Historical Summary
M7 was developed after a major futures commission merchant approached Argo because of the firm's experience in managed futures and structured alternative-investment programs.
The clearing firm did not have a sufficiently developed managed-futures offering for its network. Argo was asked to construct a diversified program that combined multiple professional commodity trading advisors within a single offering.
The resulting structure became known as M7: a multiple-advisor program composed of seven selected CTAs. The managers were combined using risk, diversification, trading-style, and market-exposure considerations rather than being presented as seven unrelated programs.
The original materials identify the initiative as a joint venture involving Argo Wealth Management and PFG and describe it as being offered through PFG.
Historical Significance
M7 represents one of Argo's most substantial institutional collaborations. Rather than simply distributing an existing manager's program, Argo helped design a multi-advisor structure intended to balance different trading methods, markets, risk profiles, and sources of return within one managed-futures allocation.
The project also reflects Argo's development from an introducing brokerage and individual-manager collaborator into a firm recognized for constructing broader managed-futures offerings for industry partners.
Founder Recollection
Dan Miller, Founder — Argo Futures Group, Inc. / Argo Wealth Management, Inc.
According to founder Dan Miller, PFG approached Argo because it recognized the firm's experience in managed futures and lacked a properly structured offering of its own. Argo selected seven CTAs and combined them using diversification and risk-allocation principles to create a balanced multi-manager program. The name M7 referred simply to 'multiple advisor' and the seven participating managers.
This account represents the founder's personal recollection of events. It is presented as oral history and should be read alongside the authenticated primary-source materials in this exhibit.
